Selamat Menyambut Ramadhan Al-Mubarak

Selamat Menyambut Ramadhan Al-Mubarak !!!

I would like to recommend "Dates" or known as Kumar to those who still learning to puasa. This fruit is a special middle east products that helps a lot during fasting month. As we all know during fasting we stopped eating and drinking for 14 hours after eating breakfast sahur, so our blood sugar also going down...

Drink plain water and eat kurma before eating at buka puasa time... Is way much better than sweet drinks. Because our body is running out of water and sugar after fasting, Kurma have its natural sugar that easily digested by body, Kurma briefly contains :

  • The fruits (dates) of the date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.) contain a high percentage of carbohydrate (total sugars, 44-88%), fat (0.2-0.5%), 15 salts and minerals, protein (2.3-5.6%), vitamins and a high percentage of dietary fibre (6.4-11.5%).
  • Additionally, the seeds contain aluminum, cadmium, chloride, lead and sulphur in various proportions. Dates contain elemental fluorine that is useful in protecting teeth against decay. Selenium, another element believed to help prevent cancer and important in immune function, is also found in dates.
  • Dates contain at least six vitamins including a small amount of vitamin C, and vitamins B(1) thiamine, B(2) riboflavin, nicotinic acid (niacin) and vitamin A. The dietary fibre of 14 varieties of dates has been shown to be as high as 6.4-11.5% depending on variety and degree of ripeness.
(Refer The fruit of the date palm: its possible use as the best food for the future? )

A little history, When Siti Maryam was born Prophet Isa a.s., Allah SWT have been guide her to eat dates. Till now this special fruit is still growing at Middle East only. Which is a rahmat for most of us...

    (surah Maryam : ayat 23-25)

Fasting have a lot of hikmah inside, not only cleansing our sins but also building stronger body, at the same time Allah SWT also show us the way to eat the right fruit. Alhamdulilah...

    7. Salam bro.

Usually my family ask people who go for umrah/hajj to buy kilos of kurma in mecca and medina and bring/post it back to Malaysia. We keep most of it for Ramadhan. :)

As for the boxes of kurma, those are normally gifts from friends. I eat those first before I "tackle" our kurma stock. lol~
